Description

Tuscan Coast, Montescudaio. This pretty Agriturism is situated on a hill enjoying a fine view across the countryside to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its tranquil position is approached by 900 metres of well maintained gravel lane from which it is divided by a wall. It lies conveniently within walking distance of two villages with their shops and restaurants Both villages hold concerts, fairs and events in their piazzas in the summer time.

The nearest beach at Marina di Cecina is a short drive of 10 km away whilst just a little further along the Etruscan coast you will find the village of Bibbona where the owners of the Agriturismo have a ‘residence’ with restaurant next to the beach where you can both park your car and use the swimming pool free of charge.

The accommodation is in various small traditional farmhouses inside the olive grove.The houses are surrounded by 450 mature olive trees from which L’Oliveto produces an excellent olive oil, which is available for guests to purchase. In all there are 11 apartments which are described here on our web site. They have all been recently restored and are fitted and furnished in traditional Tuscan style to a good standard with new kitchens and shower rooms.

In the olive grove is a fine swimming pool (approx. 14m x 9m) of irregular shape to blend in with the landscape. The pool has hydro-massage and is filled with salt water (no chlorine) The pool is surrounded by a solarium with sun beds and olive trees.

The apartments are dived into 3 categories, type C , 2-3 pers. Type B, 4 persons, and type A, 4-5 persons, described on this page:

Type C: Il Cardellino, Il Pettirosso, La Capinera, Each Cottage: 2 (up to 3) Persons – 48 sqm
Living room with kitchen area with hob (4 gas rings), electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, dining area with table and chairs, sitting area with television (Italian only) (satellite television is available for an extra charge) sofa (which on request converts to a single bed) > Bedroom with double bed (on request an extra single bed will be provided as an alternative to the sofa-bed) > Shower room with shower cubicle, basin, bidet, w.c. and hairdryer

Type B: La Sassicaia & Il Belvedere - Il Gelsomino & Il Capannino, Each Cottage: 4 Persons – 67 sqm
Ground Floor: Living room with kitchen area with hob (4 gas rings), fridge, dining area with table and chairs, sitting area with television (Italian only) (satellite television is available for an extra charge) and settee > Bedroom with double bed > Shower room with shower cubicle, basin, bidet, w.c. and hairdryer. First Floor: Bedroom with two single beds

Type A, Boschetto, Carbonaia, Pergola and Casetta, 4/5 pers. 90m2, ground and first

Boschetto/Pergola and Casetta: big living room, kitchen with hob, gas 4 rings, fridge, on the first floor bathroom with shower or bath with shower, 2 bedrooms with double beds, possiblity to sleep 1 or 2 extra persons sleep. Outside big private garden
Carbonaia, ground floor: Big living room, separate kitchen, bathroom with shower, bathroom with wc, 2 big double bed sleep rooms. Outside terrace.


The local area has much to offer. Close by there are sandy beaches, the seaside town of Cecina with its enormous Tuesday market, railway station and children’s water fun park and several interesting medieval hilltop villages each with its own charm. A drive of 30km will take you in one direction to the fascinating Etruscan town of Volterra and in the other to the smart seaside town of San Vincenzo and the lovely Remigliano Nature Park with its miles of sandy beaches and Mediterranean forest. A day trip will easily take you to the port town of Livorno with its ‘little Venice’, to the city of Pisa with its leaning tower, to the pretty Island of Elba or the fascinating art city of Florence.

-Extra bed / * Extra person - Type A : € 50,- per week (only in july and august)
