Tuscany seaside, Scarlino. Agriturismo in the heart of the ‘Alta Maremma’ a part of Tuscany known for its lovely beaches, interesting history and excellent cuisine.
Once a large farmhouse now the Agriturismo has been recently refurbished to offer six high standard 4 / 6 pers. apartments with tiled floors and wood beamed ceilings.
Each apartment has a living room with window/door opening on to a covered patio facing the garden with swimming pools and fine view of the countryside and each patio is furnished with table and chairs and for privacy is separated from its neighbour by a wall on each side.
All the apartments are comfortably furnished in traditional Tuscan style with modern well equipped kitchens. There is a large swimming pool (16 x 6) and a smaller one for children
(4 x 4 ), both are controlled and treated daily with ozone (no chlorine or chemicals are used).
The Agriturismo is surrounded by 20 hectares of its own land and is in a tranquil location close to the Tyrrhenian sea. The apartments all have a fine view across the garden to the farm’s fields of fruit trees, sunflowers, grain and olive tees leading to the coast.
The owners who live in a separate house next to the apartments are friendly and helpful.
The restaurant, run by the owners, offers reasonably priced excellent traditional cooking (open for breakfast and evening meals).
Nearby various sports can be enjoyed including horse riding, mountain bike and archery whilst within a short drive there are two golf clubs and thermal springs.

Bedroom with bunk beds (on request the bunk beds will be separated to make two single beds or an extra single bed can be provided) .Shower room with shower cubicle, basin, bidet and w.c. In the nearby area there are many sites of historical interest to visit including various Etruscan tombs and several enchanting medieval villages including, at just 5km, Scarlino. On a hilltop this village enjoys a fine view of the sea towards the town of Follonica where you will find a sandy beach, a wide range of shops and restaurants and a water fun park.
A pleasant drive south along the coast, edged with pine tree woods, will take you to the fine beaches of Punta Ala, the seaside town of Castiglione della Pescaia with its panoramic medieval quarter and the Maremma Nature Reserve home to some lovely beaches and many wild animals.
When you feel like venturing further you will find more south the hilltop village of Talamonte, the peninsula of Monteargentario with the picturesque villages of Porto San Stefanoand Porto Ercole. Tuscany’s most important art cities - Florence, Siena, Pisa, and San Gimignano are about one and a half and two and a half hours drive away.
