Il Poggio is a very elegantly restored country house, situated in the rolling hills of Tuscany, surrounded by vineyards and within walking distance of San Gimignano. In the manor house and cottages are situated five beautiful 2-person rooms and four comfortable apartments for 2 to 6 people.
From the moment you drive onto the hill leading to Il Poggio, you will be taken by the beautiful surroundings and fantastic views over the Tuscan countryside, with the towers of San Gimignano in the background. During your stay you will enjoy this spectacular view.
The Agriturismo is run by the young couple Suzanne and Fausto. You will be warmly greeted them and they will be happy to help you during your stay. Fausto specializes in wine and he organizes wine tasting in the tasting room.
In the main building the rooms of the B & B and some of the apartments are situated. There is a common room (sofa, dining room, patio), where breakfast is served to the guests of the B & B and, on request, for the guests of the apartments. Next to the house is the lovely pool surrounded by parasols and sunlounchers, where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view.
Surroundings
You can walk over the old "cassia" in about 20 minutes to San Gimignano, the charming medieval town with its many towers, shops and terraces. Colle Val d'Elsa, the city of the crystal and with the lively farmers market on Friday, is about 15 minutes drive away. 10 minutes drive away is the highway to Poggibonsi with the entrance to Florence and Siena.
