Relais Bandini, 8 apts for 2 tot 7+2 persons

Description

Tuscany. Relais Casa Bandini was in the Middle Ages a guest house for merchants and travelers from northern Europe who mved to Rome on foot. Later it became a working farm and in 1990 the complex was taken over by the Bandini family. They have been carefully restoring the houses to holiday homes for 2 to 7 (+2) persons. The old farmhouse, the rectory, the hay barn, the granary and the mansion are now all comfortable and stylish guest accommodations, there is a beautiful swimming pool and located in the mansion is also a restaurant.

All apartments are stylishly furnished,  have stone floors and beamed ceilings. There are 8 apartments, for 2 to 7 (+ 2) persons, all with private entrance and outdoor area.  Almost all apartments have air conditioning.

The beautiful swimming pool has a spacious sun terrace, from where a magnificent view over the vineyards of Sangiovese, broom, lavender and rose bushes. The restaurant seats 50 people. The kitchen focuses on promoting local products and wines of San Gimignano and the Chianti region.

In the middle of the complex is the small church of S. Lorenzo (XI century), built on the remains of an old building dating back from the fifth century. The altar is decorated with a fresco of the Madonna and Child on the throne between S. Lorenzo and S. Sebastiano by Pier Francesco Fiorentino (15th century).

The apartments

Rosa Bianca, 140 m2, 7 (+ 2) persons, 1st floor, 3 bedrooms
Inside staircase to first floor, large, stylishly furnished living room with sofa and armchairs. Spacious kitchen with large dining table and chairs, four-burner stove, oven, fridge and dishwasher. Three bedrooms with double beds, one of the bedrooms has a double sofabed for 2 extra people, small room with a single bed. Three bathrooms with sink, bath with shower and toilet. Large terrace downstairs.

Cipresso, 100 m2, 5 persons, 1st floor, 2 bedrooms, air conditioning
This charming apartment is on the first floor of the Presbytery, where once the priests stayed overnight. Through a loggia you enter the spacious living / dining room with sofa and armchairs, antique fireplace, dining table and chairs. Kitchen with 4-burner stove, oven, fridge and dishwasher. Bedroom  with double bed and bathroom with bath and toilet. From the living room via an open staircase you reach the second floor, with a large bedroom with two single beds and one single bed. The apartment has airco. Outside a private terrace with garden table and chairs.

Fico 90 m2, 4 persons, ground floor, 2 bedrooms air conditioning
This former Rectory offers great views over the hills with vineyards and the valley of the river Elsa. The apartment has a spacious lounge with two sofas, two steps down to the kitchen with table and chairs, four-burner stove, oven, fridge and dishwasher. Balcony. One bedroom with two single beds, one bedroom room with a double bed. Bathroom with bath with shower and toilet. The apartment is air conditioned. Cosy patio with table and chairs.

Ginestra, 80 m2, 4-5 persons ground floor, two bedrooms, air conditioning
This apartment was originally the old hay barn on the farm and overlooks the underlying valley and the Castello della Rocchetta. Dining/living room with high windows, sofa, dining table and chairs, kitchenette with 4-burner stove, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. Bedroom, also with high windows, with double bed,  bedroom with 3 single beds. Bathroom with shower and toilet. Air conditioning Spacious terrace between the fruit trees, with garden furniture.

Alloro, 80 m2, 2-3 persons, groundfloor, 1 bedroom, airco
This apartment is on the ground floor of the former rectory. Attractive dining room with sofa, table and chairs, kitchen fireplace, four-burner stove, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. Bedroom with double bed, a third bed can be placed. Spacious bathroom with shower toilet wen. Outside terrace with stone floors, equipped with garden tables and chairs.

This apartments was once used for drying corn.It is on two floors: on the ground floor living room with patio doors opening on to terrace, fireplace, sofa, table and chairs, kitchenette with 4-burner stove, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. The apartments "Granaio" and "Girasole" can be connected by two doors, making it a villa is ideal for large families or two families. It consists of three double bedrooms with the possibility of adding an extra single bed, a dining room with kitchen and two bathrooms. The apartment is air conditioned. Terrace in the shade of pine and olive trees.
